Angie Sutliff

Angie Sutliff from Menomonie, WI in the United States is an amateur cellist who has been playing for 10 years. She has played on several albums by local artists and has been a part of multiple ensembles and performed at many venues. Last year, s
he joined a community orchestra.

“I think what has helped me a lot is that I try to say yes to every opportunity to play. That alone pushed my ability, challenged me, and helped me to develop. I love all of it.”

Her favorite cellist in the world is Camille Thomas and she considers herself a "happy amateur" cellist. She started playing the cello in high school but stopped when her family moved to a city without an orchestra program. No orchestra at school meant no cello. Later, she took up playing again after her sister's son, who had been playing cello, went to the military and gave her his cello.

She was taught mostly by a high school teacher whose name she cannot recall, and then by Dean Langby of Menomonie, WI.

Her cello is a 2010, El Cerrito cello named Gustav, which she bought from a previous player.

She uses Larsen strings for the A and D, and Spirocore for the G and C strings.

In addition to playing the cello, Angie is also a writer and enjoys singing.

Angie has done 7 GCPs.
