hi cello friends I hope you’ve all been enjoying all the practicing for GCP #18 Danse Macabre!!
SHEET MUSIC ERRATA I have made quite a few corrections over the last few days, and therefore I urge you to check out the ERRATA page on the website - HERE. Have a look and see if your part is affected and check the revision date on the bottom of each page of the music to see if you have the latest edition! PLAY THROUGH VIDEOS
I have finished the first week and a half of the live sessions for this project - Danse Macabre. It’s amazing to think that a little over a week ago we had only just premiered our Beethoven GCP#17! I feel like so much has been achieved since then - and it has been great to see so many of you during the 10 Live Practice Sessions coming to grips with your parts! We now have play-through videos of all the parts (at all the speeds) and these are available to play with anytime HERE, and you can always catch up on these LIVE PRACTICE SESSIONS link on the Project #18 web page HERE RECORDING SETTINGS ON YOUR DEVICE During this week’s Live Sessions, we have discussed how to set up your device to record the “perfect” GCP recording. The system I am using (for now!) to collect all your uploaded recordings has a limit of 1GB per file. I can still handle bigger files, but it results in A LOT more work for both Rowan and I in terms of organizing and checking your submissions. So, IF YOU CAN, I would encourage you to check out the “BEST VIDEO SETTINGS” page of the website - HERE - and see if you can set your phone/Ipad/tablet/PC to record using the optimal settings. If your device or method is not listed, please do let us know at admin@gloalcelloproject.com BACKING TRACKS Choose your own adventure, indeed. You have access to 26 different backing tracks - and all of them can be used to film your performance with! All of these tracks have the click track and my voice instructions and direction. In addition to two “FULL MIX” tracks - one fast and one slower - there are four different tracks for each part: SOLOed at full speed, BOOSTed at full speed SOLOed at slow speed, BOOSTed at slow speed SOLO means it’s just your part on its own (with the click track and instructions from me.) BOOSTED means that your part is louder in the mix, but you can still hear the other parts, along with the click track and instructions from me. I hope these are helpful for you - both in your practice and in the recording process. JUST OVER 4 DAYS TO GO!! (there will be some flexibility!--persevere and overcome!) Next Live Practice Session will be: Tomorrow - Thursday at 12 noon CST Zoom link And after that - ANOTHER SESSION FOR THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD! Friday Night/Saturday morning 1am Calling all cellists in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Pacific region and nearby places - as well as late workers and early risers everywhere! Early Saturday morning Austin time I will be doing another special live session - I hope y’all can join me then.
AND ALL THE UPCOMING SESSIONS leading up to the due date Saturday 12 noon Sunday 1:30pm Monday 12 noon PART DISTRIBUTION! I am really interested in which part you are thinking of recording.
